The hidden opportunity

Every problem has a hidden opportunity. When you go through a crisis, you often only see what it has brought you. Each challenge offers a lesson. In the 50s, John F. Kennedy already came up with it, the Chinese sign for crisis consists of two parts: danger and opportunity.

Put the second meaning a little more in your Spotlight: where is the opportunity hidden in your circumstances? Where is the opening for your future? The invitation to rethink at this time?

During the more difficult stages in my life, I have learned that it is not about having to bear guilt when relationships do not go well, or when circumstances turn out differently than you ever thought. Also, fretting about how karma works against you makes no sense at all.

Responsible as I always want to be, motivated in my personal growth, I sometimes slipped into carrying too much responsibility on my shoulders. I used to feel like I wasn't good enough. I prefer to bear the suffering of the other.

I have learned that we can love ourselves. That there are no mistakes and that we should abandon spiritual idealism. That we do not create life on our own, but that we are instead co-creators with others and the entire universe as part of the whole.

You may be unwittingly 'lost' in a psychopathic or manipulative relationship. It's about getting a view of the ‘role’ you play or played. To what extent can you feel what is good and not good anymore? Can you stay true to your heart and stand for your own truth? Set your limits but also deal with the consequences of your limits? Where do you let go too much, where do you hold on convulsively? What is your motivation for doing and letting go? Where is the suture? Where's the fear?

Our reality is partly created by our own interpretation. In addition, due to all sorts of unconscious patterns in ourselves that are in the hidden corners of our subconscious. In challenging circumstances, you are invited to explore those areas within yourself, in love. From the’ work ' that you do with love in yourself in this area, in reality, a relationship, life, your situation can flow differently again.

The Corona time was a difficult time for many people. Oddly enough, I have heard dozens of times what it has also brought people: finally that calm, a pass at the place, a moment of reflection on life, a change of work…

At that time, after 20 years, I decided to let go of The Shape of my yoga center. We shed tears with the team because we had developed such a connection in our collaboration and wanted to keep it. Still, it was a good choice. For my dear friend and colleague Vonny it was time to take a different path. All teachers have left their own independent, and Carien and Mariska still teach their independent classes at Heart to Heart. An old form has been taken over by a new form of work while maintaining everyone's beautiful mission. In the meantime, the space has been filled by many new beautiful tenants who give multi-day training courses in Heart House.

Grateful for what was, full of surrender for the now as it is, with confidence in the future.
