Let’s talk about seks, yogi

22 september 2023

We are increasingly open about our sex lives. After all, almost every human and animal does or did’it'. Sexuality is part of our nature. We come out with it and we read vulnerable interviews in the magazines about the variety of experiences of others.

I hear couples who crave depth in their sex lives. As if there is a potential of experiences waiting to be shaken awake. But they don't know how. Couples who have been together for a long time where the rut has ended or where there is a need for more adventure.
Understandable. Sexuality (combined with connected intimacy) is one of the most delightful gifts nature has given us.

As soon as we become sexually aroused, the hormones oxytocin and vasopressin are produced at a high rate. These substances provide sense and lust. Oxytocin – the cuddling hormone-also has a calming effect. So that's why women relax from making love and men fall asleep quickly after sex.

Bed experiences flow into everyday life. A wonderful lovemaking gives shine to your skin, blushes on your cheeks, a sense of work and is good for your immune system!

For many, sexuality remains something that belongs only in the bedroom. Sometimes there is still a taboo atmosphere around it. This ecstatic gift of Mother Nature can also be brutally disrupted by trauma. Even in love couples, the flow of pleasures can stagnate for all sorts of reasons. But healing is also possible here.

How your energy flows (or blocks) from within is like a mirror to the quality of your well-being, relationship and zest for life. The free-flow of your sexual energy basically depends on your stress balance, your ‘embodiment’ (grounding in your body), your hormone balance, the openness of your heart. There is no right or wrong. Energy flows as it flows through inner and outer factors of the moment. But you can ‘work’ with it and make it’work for you'!

Sexual energy is essentially life energy. We are born from this energy. As humans, we are creatures.

This primordial force is called ‘kundalini’ energy in ancient traditions.
Kundalini is the dormant, dormant potential force in the human organism. It is one of the components of an esoteric description of the’ subtle ‘(energetic) body which consists of’nadis ‘(energy channels),’chakras’ (psychic centers), ‘prana’ (subtle life energy) and ‘bindu ‘(drops of Essence).

It should be clear that we consist of more than just flesh and blood. All the ancient health teachings from the East already talked about " chi " or "ki". Ayurveda, the sister of yoga, also assumes that we and everything that lives around us consist of ‘prana’ energy.

Our quality of consciousness, our attention and intention, direct our energy. How we use our energy in life but also in our sexuality largely determines our happiness and fulfillment.

Sexual energy is a tremendous force that can be experienced on a scale from gross to subtle. Sex is often experienced at the coarser level which is very basic and animalistic. And that's where the floor is missing. It is then more sexual acts than any form of connection is exchanged.
According to tantra philosophy, there is a world of experiences beyond this stage.

First, you need time and delay to sink more into your emotional world. You just need to block time in your calendar for a long evening of touching and being touched. Consciousness can then slowly open up. You can practice being more 'present' with your energy and with that of your partner.

Take time for sensuality. Sensuality is the bridge between sex and the heart. Sensual feelings relax and bring you into your feeling.
One is sensually stimulated by, for example, the warm flowing bath water that bumps against the skin, the other by easy-going music that you want to dance to.. the wind that gently strokes your skin, oiling yourself with delicious essential oil.

A tender touch of 2 hands can already be very sensual...or a longer look from someone you find attractive..
In bed, experiment once with blindfolding your partner and gently touching him or her with a feather, your fingertips, nails, or your hair…

The ultimate experience of sexuality is when your entire energetic body opens up and thrives on the interplay of love. Not only does lust flow, but there is heart-to-heart connection. Sexuality is loved. Love flows smoothly into an experience of unity.

When your heart is open, you are present. There is a self-awareness. Playfulness and creativity can come out. You feel vulnerable and so powerful. Gène falls away and there is trust and openness. Bound in pain becomes bound in love. Judgments and insecurities are washed away by acceptance and embrace. Loneliness becomes togetherness. You dissolve into each other. The 2 square meters of the bed has become sacred place of expression love and healing. Energy is not wasted but sublimated. Some training in not ejaculating (too early) is a requirement.

When you get to know your own body as an energetic explosion of feelings and orgasmic sensations, you can deepen the togetherness. Sex thus becomes a higher human experience rather than a momentary animal expression.

Just as yoga has grown enormously in the world, Tantrism has also grown with its many choices of workshops and trainings.

I definitely recommend people, just like a slip course comes with a driver's license, to take something from a workshop or tantric training in your relationship. (Please look for pure trainers in this box! There is a lot of crap in this area unfortunately.)
A wonderful self-study of your own body and sexual energy is the online training of www.vallei-orgasme.nl
If you prefer to do a private session with your partner to deepen your intimate relationship, I can guide you in a 3-hour session.

Learn to see the body as a sacred temple and keep her / him alive for yourself and your loved one. Be frugal with your energy. Open yourself to a good quality of exchange and let go of what brings your energy down.

Enjoy the greatest celebration of Mother Nature, connected in body and heart!
